Portage/Girdwood
June 30
The Wildlife Conservation Center gave us the opportunity for some close up animal viewing. These creatures all have 'issues' and needed someone to take them in. To keep the facility operating and the animals well cared for, they charge an admission to allow the public to visit, thus creating a bit of revenue. This poor eagle had been shot and had to have its left wing amputated.
It was drizzling out but these fellows didn't seem to mind. Momma and Dad were comfortable in rain gear and didn't mind as well. And I was snuggled up all cozy and warm with the heater running, guarding the rig. It's a grand life!!
