We departed Muncho Lake and headed for Watson Lake which
happens to be the second largest city in the Yukon….but it really is small by
Florida standards.
Once again we were treated to great views and terrific close
animal encounters. The bison were very prevalent
along our route. The babies are so cute frolicking
amongst the herd. We were lucky to have
road side shoulders to pull over so we could enjoy the treat.
And of course we can't leave out the bear sighting.
Watson Lake has a few tourist attractions to share with the
travelers. We decided to stay at Downtown
RV Park. I have read the statement in
some park reviews about a campground being a parking lot. Well, this campground TRULY is a parking lot. The back-in sites ring the outer area of the
large ‘parking lot/campground’ while the pull thru sites are placed in the
center of the lot with just enough room so your slides kiss the slides of your
neighbor. The staff tries to alternate
the larger rigs with the smaller rigs to give everyone a breathing space. Hey, it works...and it is only an overnight stay for most everyone.
Well this sign sure had our hopes up.....but no sightings today.
This height marker sent a jolt the first time I saw one similar to this. Then I grabbed the phone for a quick conversion from m to ft and found the magic number for clearance for our rig to be 4.1. Ahhhh...a sigh of relief.
