Can you say neighbor?

 Valdez: Eagle's Rest Campground
July 2-4

Dad and Momma were washing our rig and truck....again....when Dad could see that someone has having some difficulty trying to back a little trailer.  Being a good Samaritan and knowing how frustrating it can be (because Momma has told him how bad it can get; I doubt Dad has experienced it himself) to get a trailer where you want it, he wandered over to see if he could help.  Well, the next thing he knew, he was behind the steering wheel with the instructions of backing the trailer between the two cabins.
And there you have it....all backed in the tight little space.  Dad said, "I could see her turning the wheel the wrong way and I knew she'd never make it without some help."  He had that thing in there so quick the owner was smiling.

Most everyone is very friendly as they are visiting Alaska.  We have seen oodles of rentals.  These Class C are rented mostly by Europeans.

Momma and Dad were chatting with a couple who live in The Villages, Fl....just a hop, skip and a jump from us in Florida.  They had purchased a used Class B (van) for their Alaskan travels, but she admitted they should have probably gotten a Class C instead.  The van was a tad small.  They said they will sell it after their adventure.
Another couple had purchased a used truck camper (camper that slides into the bed of the truck) but this one had a collapsible top that you raised to live in and lowered when traveling.  They also admitted that they wish they had the taller hard top for the trip.  They had a for sale sign on their camper as well.  They have a Class A at home that they use during the winter months when they come to Florida and stay at...are you ready.....Southern Oaks in Summerfield, Florida.  Yep, it's a very mobile society and it seems we tend to move in the same direction.

I'm sure glad we have lots of room in our rig for me to stretch out and even run around a bit up the stairs to the bedroom and back down to the kitchen and living area.  And no one has to trip over my food bowl or water bowl!  Life is good while we travel.....

Hickory
