6 inch slice

Lots of contrast today.  As we traveled through Colorado, we finally saw some green.  Enough to actually give the cattle something to munch on.

Then we entered the scenic highway.  As if the whole ride hasn't been entertaining!

Even the view from our campsite is impressive.

We had just gotten set up when Dad told Momma that he found a 6 inch slice.  Wow, pizza time.  I was beginning to salivate.  Dad was sure frowning.  Then I began to get the REAL picture when I heard him on the phone calling tire shops.
Yep, even the belts were protruding. Just click on the pic and it should get larger.   Wow, are we lucky we still had air in the tire and didn't have a  'blow out' on the road.  The real puzzle is where did it happen?  One of the construction areas we traveled through?  At least we were in a good place for tire changing and also a good place to secure a replacement.  This area is loaded with toyhaulers, trailers and ATV's...thus...a tire in stock!  It may not be the brand we would have chosen but it is the right size and load range.  Replacing that tire means we still have the 2 spares that we are hauling with us.

All is well, ready to enjoy Moab, Utah.
