More great views from Mother Nature

I think I figured out why it is a tad greener in this area.  We have had a brief rain shower twice while we were here and then last night a heard a rat-a-tat-tat during the night.  Dad said it was just a bit of light hail.  I didn't think it was cold enough here to hail but after today's ride to Towaoc, Colorada watching the thermometer reading drop lower and lower, I could understand if it should hail here.

Momma was too busy enjoying the phenomenal views on the ride to watch the temps dropping.  It was one of those oooh and aaahhh rides that kept the camera snapping.

But everyone was scrambling for a heavy jacket as soon as we arrived.

With only a short 2+ hour drive today, the day began with the goal of crossing off one more item from the list of recommendations.  The gal at the campground registration desk lit up when she recommended the bagels with green chili cream cheese from Silver Stallion.  With that kind of a recommendation, it became the last 'must do' item before departing from USA RV Park in Gallup, NM...a park we highly recommend.

Well, as it turned out, Silver Stallion was closed this morning but two gentlemen suggested we walk around the corner to the Gallop
Coffee Company and everyone was glad they did!

Especially Uncle Robin...I think he must have been hungry...or else Momma just didn't take the pic soon enough.  He did have just a bagel while everyone else enjoyed and egg, bacon, cheese mixture or a spinach, sundried tomato, goat cheese mixture baked on puff pastry.

It was probably better than the green chili cream cheese on bagel....but we'll never know....unless we return to the area someday and find the Silver Stallion open.

Hickory
